Bike and Water
Play at Santa Fe Lake It’s fun and great exercise as we pedal up
the bike trail (no cars or traffic lights) along the San Gabriel
River to the Santa Fe Dam and Recreation Area where we can enjoy
water play, throwing frisbees, maybe some volleyball, and relaxing
while we eat our lunches. You can look at pictures of past
trips on our website:
www.uscworldwidefriends.org. You can also google Santa Fe
Dam and Recreation Center to find out more about our destination.
Saturday, June 5, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The bike trip will take about one hour each way. Wear
comfortable, cool clothes and bring your swim suit, lunch, about a
liter of water, and a backpack to carry them in. You can bring
your own bike or borrow one of our many bikes from us. If you
can bring your own bike, that would be great. It will probably
be better than ours. But Dan, who's had a lot of bicycle
repair experience, would like to check it out out earlier in the
week (Tuesday through Thursday) so we won't be held up on Saturday
morning. Please contact us right away if you plan to bring
your bike so that you and he can talk about it and possibly meet in
the USC area to fix any problem you may have.
If you want to
borrow a bike, we also need to know quickly so Dan will have time to
prepare a bike for you. We will provide transportation for you
and your bike from in front of Wendy’s at 30th and Hoover.
Meet there at 8:30 a.m. Reservations are necessary by
Thursday, June 3, or sooner if possible. When you sign up, send
your phone number and also tell us if you have a bike or if you need
to borrow one. Contact Dan or Dicksie at (323) 727-7869 or
d_d@uscworldwidefriends.
Take a look at the Photo Gallery below to see all the fun we've had in past
years. Under Current on the website, look at last year's
trip under 2008-2009.
